26 DAYS
“26 DAYS” is a performative multicultural project that combines theatre, sound design, and choreography to create a multi-layered artistic experience about war, peace, and human responsibility.
The title of the project is based on the research of Hungarian political scientist István Kende, who calculated that over the past one hundred years, there have been only 26 days in the world without a single war.
This number became a symbol for us: peace is extremely rare and fragile—yet it is possible. If peace has existed even for 26 days, it can be extended.
The project raises fundamental questions: Why does humanity return to war again and again? Why do societies support destruction? How is aggression formed—and can this cycle be broken?
We explore not only political or military causes, but also the psychological, cultural, and social mechanisms behind conflicts.
A key focus of the project is personal responsibility, because peace is not an abstract idea but a daily choice, action, and value.
Special attention is given to the historical experience of Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Czechia, and Hungary—countries that have faced imperial domination, totalitarian regimes, censorship, deportations, ethnic conflicts, occupations, and the struggle for freedom.
Their histories are different, yet they share a common trajectory: loss — resistance — revival.
The project shows how culture and solidarity have helped societies survive, preserve identity, and build civic awareness.
The artistic form of the performance combines dramatic monologues, choreographic scenes, and sound design, creating a deep emotional and intellectual immersion.
This is not a documentary reconstruction of facts, but an experiential journey that allows the audience to feel the inner state of a person in war and in the search for peace.
Voice, body, sound, and silence become full-fledged carriers of memory.
“26 Days” is also a platform for intercultural dialogue.
The project brings together artists with different artistic languages and historical perspectives, creating a space of understanding and collaboration.
We believe that art can become a form of democratic conversation, where different voices are heard but a shared meaning is born.
The core message of the project:
Peace is not a pause between wars.
Peace is a choice, an action, and a responsibility.
If humanity has already experienced 26 days of peace, it is capable of creating thousands.
“26 Days” is not just a performance.
It is a cultural exploration, a civic statement, and an invitation to dialogue.
